- "An organisation. Not as brave as the Order of the Phoenix, unfortunately, but the Abscondita was designed just to keep people safe." --- Orion Days
The Abscondita was a group founded by Danielle Hillard in 1969. Its purpose was to safely house various groups of people, including Blood Traitors, Muggleborns and anybody else under threat of Voldemort and his supporters. The Abscondita was allied with the Order of the Phoenix, however only some of the members fought and helped them. The remainder of the Abscondita stayed in hiding out of fear. The First Wizarding War ended, and the Abscondita, after losing a few of its members, disbanded. A few of its members also joined the Death Eater Capture Force.
It was reconvened in 1995 by Hillard after Albus Dumbledore told her of Voldemort's return and the Ministry of Magic's unco-operation. Again, many of the members remained hidden, and the rest of them fought in the Battle of Hogwarts in 1998, which cost them a number of their members. Some of its members then helped the Ministry of Magic to round up stray Death Eaters and any victims. The group was disbanded again, however its members remained close friends after the War finished.
Founding and First Wizarding WarEdit
Danielle Hillard founded the Abscondita in 1969, after overhearing some future Death Eaters discussing Voldemort's rise to power. She informed Albus Dumbledore, and gathered her friends and family and founded the Abscondita literally underground in Great London . Several of the Abscondita's members were allied to the Order of the Phoenix and secretly defied the Death Eaters, including Danielle Hillard, David Ward, Anna Ward, Sarah Ward, Pierrette and Alexa Days, Orion Days, Calesca Days, Marvell Days, Kiera Moon and Robyn Westacott. The rest of the Abscondita remained in hiding for their own protection.
After the First Wizarding War ended, a few of the Abscondita's members were lost (David Ward and Robyn Westacott). Several of the Order of the Phoenix allies also joined the Death Eater Capture Force, a group dedicated to capturing stray Death Eaters. Vivian Ward joined the others, driven by her father's death.
Second Wizarding WarEdit
When Voldemort returned to power in 1995, Albus Dumbledore told Danielle Hillard and she reformed the Abscondita. Some of them didn't rejoin until a year later, having believed the Ministry of Magic's lies about Dumbledore and Harry Potter.
The Second Wizarding War resulted in deaths of a few members, including Pierrette and Alexa Days, Stephen Hale, Craig Zunic amongst many others. The Abscondita disbanded once again, but the members remained close friends.

The word Abscondita is a Latin word which literally means "hidden". This obviously symbolizes the Abscondita's main goal: to stay hidden from Voldemort and his supporters.
